During last week, Upper School have been tuning their tubas and stringing their sitars ready for another week of composition, creating musical accompaniment to a scene from their Power of Reading text. I have loved being interrupted during break times to tune ukuleles and guitars that the children have enthusiastically brought to me, poised to create their next masterpiece.
The biggest addition this year has been the use of the brand new recording microphone that was bought using the money from selling the Christmas CDs, which has meant the teachers have recorded the groups’ pieces and I have been overwhelmed by the quality I have heard so far.
This week is Lower School’s turn and I am looking forward to hearing more fantastic compositions!
Attached bellow are some of the Musical Instruments children have been exploring, learning the different sounds and ways to play those instruments.
