Please keep practising Spellings and Times Tables. There is an expectation for Year 4s to be able to recall ALL of the Times Tables up to 12 x 12 and know the Spellings in the Year 3/4 Spelling list by the end of the year. Both can be found in the back of the Homework Diary. Also, children have been filling in their empty boxes in their Diaries with incorrectly spelt words they have found in their day to day work in school.

Think of all the ways to make them fun and a part of everyday routines! Silly Sentences or a Word of the Day/Week and posting tricky times tables around the house are fun ways to keep up with the practise.
This practise will help children boost their confidence with other areas of Maths and Literacy. Thank you for your support.
Please also continue to record reading in your child's homework diary.  We do enjoy seeing what books they are reading and it helps us to recommend new books to them from our reading corners.
Weekly Homework
Each week, your child will be asked to:
1. Learn a list of spellings
2. Complete a maths activity
3. Read and record their reading at least 3 times
Throughout the year, Year 4 will receive a creative homework grid that will be linked to their topic for that term.
