Caroline Lawrence Visit
Today, Monday 14th November, we were lucky enough to have Caroline Lawrence visit the school to talk about creative writing and Roman Britain, as well as telling us about being a author.  This event was part of the Festival and featured the award-winning writer, whose Roman Mysteries series has been made into a primetime CBBC drama.

Pupils learnt about life in Roman times, the 7 steps to writing a brilliant story and Caroline's inspiration for her books. These include her new Roman Quests series, following the adventures of three Roman children who flee to Roman Britain; and The Sewer Demon, an adventure mystery story which is suitable for Year 3 children upwards.

All the children thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to hear from a 'real-life author' and were very excited to be able to get their own copies of her books signed. One pupil even said it was "the best day of her life!"

Reading Review Challenge

Have you read The Roman Quests- Escape from Rome?

Reading Zone has asked pupils to write a review of Caroline Lawrence’s first book Roman Quest, Escape from Rome to go onto their website.

What you will need to do to is go to

and just follow the instructions.

'What is the book about'  is just a couple of sentences to sum up the book, then write your  review in ‘What I liked about this book’.

They would like the reviews as soon as possible.

If you complete a review, please let me know and I will give you a house point!

Thank you,

Miss Wilkinson
