Welcome to our website.
This should provide you with information about our school and give you a flavour of what we have to offer.
We are a thriving, oversubscribed, school which prides itself on its very high level of inclusion and a very positive and caring atmosphere for learning.
We have excellent staff and facilities and we always strive to build upon this. We believe in taking every opportunity of consulting with the children and involving yourselves to see what would best benefit the children and their education.
We were delighted that following our most recent Ofsted inspection, February 2011, we have been recognised as a Good school with Outstanding in: Behaviour, Safety, Care Guidance and Support, Safeguarding Procedures and Attendance.
These are some of the points made by Ofsted:
- "A welcoming and caring environment is evident in the school, with staff demonstrating a collective responsibility in promoting the care and personal development of all pupils"
- "Pupils' behave brilliantly and are very mature in their outlook"
- They have a strong sense of feeling safe and valued which is supported by the views of many parents and carers
- Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good. As a result, pupils show high levels of appreciation towards each other.
- A very harmonious school community
- The school goes that extra mile to know every child's strengths and difficulties and helps them to build on these.
- Pupils' attainment at the end of Year 6 is above average as pupils make good progress and achieve well.
This tells you that every child really does matter at Pound Hill Juniors. We help to create such wonderful, mature and sensible young people whose behaviour is excellent.
I am proud of our children and I am sure that I will continue to be proud of our school for years to come.
